Job Description
A precision aerospace manufacturing facility is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer to support inspection and quality assurance activities for high-tolerance machined components. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing CMM programs to ensure products meet customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, program, and run CMM inspection programs for machined aerospace components
Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications to create accurate inspection routines
Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections
Analyze inspection data and document results per quality standards
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for nonconforming parts
Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to improve inspection methods
Maintain calibration and verification of CMM equipment and related tooling
Assist with internal and customer audits as needed
Ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer quality requirements
3+ years of experience programming and operating CMM equipment in a machining environment
Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Experience inspecting tight-tolerance aerospace components
Proficiency with CMM software (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar)
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and models
Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
Aerospace manufacturing experience
Experience with first article inspections (FAIRs)
Background in CNC machining or manufacturing engineering
Ability to troubleshoot inspection issues and optimize programs
