Position Overview
We are looking for a highly qualified and passionate SAT English Tutor to join our academic team. The ideal candidate has a strong command of SAT Reading, Writing, and grammar concepts, as well as the ability to teach effective test-taking strategies. This is a part-time role with flexible scheduling and the potential for long-term collaboration based on performance and student demand.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly qualified and passionate SAT English Tutor to join our academic team. The ideal candidate has a strong command of SAT Reading, Writing, and grammar concepts, as well as the ability to teach effective test-taking strategies. This is a part-time role with flexible scheduling and the potential for long-term collaboration based on performance and student demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction in SAT Reading & Writing
- Teach students core concepts, including:
- Reading comprehension
- Rhetoric and text analysis
- SAT grammar rules and conventions
- Sentence structure, transitions, and logical flow
- Reading comprehension
- Develop personalized learning plans based on student needs
- Assign and review practice tests, providing detailed feedback
- Track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and student engagement
- Bachelors degree required (English, Linguistics, Education, or related field preferred)
- Prior experience teaching SAT English or test prep strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of SAT Reading and Writing content and scoring
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently
- Familiarity with current SAT question formats and trends
- Experience working with middle or high school students
- Masters degree in Education, English, or related discipline
- Prior experience in private tutoring, test prep centers, or similar academic settings
- Ability to teach both online and in-person
