Custodian Lead - Full-time

JOB DESCRIPTION:  To participate in and supervise, school custodial services necessary to provide a safe, effective, and attractive environment for students, staff, and the District’s Educational Programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience as a school custodian or equivalent position in other institutions or industry. Knowledgeable in basic techniques of carpentry, minor electrical and plumbing repairs, and grounds maintenance. The physical condition necessary to bend, stoop, stand, and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to delegate work and direct custodians to complete assigned work.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Organize, schedule, participate in, and supervise the custodial services.

• Make regular inspections of the buildings and grounds, make or request repairs necessary to provide a safe environment.

• Maintain records for personnel accounting, submitting reports as needed.

• Requisition supplies and materials necessary for the provision of efficient custodial services and maintain the area of operation of facilities with a minimum of undue interruptions.

• Evaluate the performance of custodial staff members as directed.

• Maintain proper sanitation and security of the buildings.

• Check the school building for safety hazards and major repairs. Report this information to the principal.

• Assist the principal in interviewing and hiring custodial personnel.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

SALARY: Twelve-month position, beginning salary Level 33, employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.

EVALUATION:  Performance to be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy on the evaluation of support personnel.
