Locum Tenens CRNA in Newport News, VA — Join a Level II trauma center providing diverse anesthesia cases including OB, main OR, CVIR/Specials, MRI/CT, Endoscopy, and Bronchoscopy. This travel CRNA / contract CRNA opportunity offers competitive weekly pay and a supportive perioperative team in coastal Virginia’s Hampton Roads area.

Job Details

• Location: Newport News, VA (Hampton Roads / coastal Virginia)
• Assignment Length: Through December 31, 2026 (minimum 90-day credentialing required)
• Shifts: 8, 10 & 12 hour shifts available, Monday–Friday; occasional weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday, 7a–7p)
• Shift Type: 12-hour days (variable schedules available)
• Hours per Week: 36 (40-hour guarantee)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: 5,860 – 6,180 (competitive locum tenens anesthesia pay)
• EMR: ICARE/EPIC (onsite training provided)
• Travel CRNA support and onboarding assistance

Job Requirements

• Current registered professional nurse license (RN) and certified as a CRNA
• Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia education program (COA or predecessor)
• Active certification or recertification by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
• Minimum 1 year of CRNA clinical experience (experience in OB, main OR, and trauma cases preferred)
• Ability to complete a 90-day minimum credentialing and be eligible for Virginia state licensure

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative anesthesia care across a diverse case mix: OB, main OR, CVIR/Specials, MRI/CT, Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy
• Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments, obtain and verify informed consent, and discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients
• Induce, maintain, and manage emergence from anesthesia; monitor physiologic status and intervene as needed
• Perform clinical procedures and advanced airway management appropriate to CRNA scope of practice in a Level II trauma center
• Document anesthesia care accurately in ICARE/EPIC EMR and communicate with perioperative team members
• Participate in scheduled weekend call coverage and collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams for quality patient outcomes
