Job Title: Radiology Technologist

Job Summary:
\n In this position, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures to obtain desired radiographic results according to physicians' specifications. Responsibilities include transferring patients for examinations, using ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis, and assisting with the x-ray examination process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
\n  

\n
    \n
  • Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures.
  • \n
  • Operate all X-ray imaging and related equipment appropriately.
  • \n
  • Educate, position, and immobilize patients for X-ray procedures.
  • \n
  • Coordinate X-ray examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care.
  • \n
  • Follow provider imaging orders accurately.
  • \n
  • Submit required images and related clinical information to the Radiologist for interpretation.
  • \n
  • Evaluate image quality appropriately.
  • \n
  • Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, Radiologists, and leadership.
  • \n
  • Utilize, charge, and maintain department supplies appropriately.
  • \n
  • Practice sterile techniques and follow infection prevention policies.
  • \n
  • Handle multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines.
  • \n
  • Safely perform X-ray procedures, including patient transfer.
  • \n
  • Prepare and administer contrast according to Radiologist protocol.
  • \n
  • Follow radiation safety measures (ALARA) to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • \n
  • Supervise and evaluate Student Radiographers in the clinical setting.
  • \n

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team.
  • \n
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • \n
  • Ability to function successfully in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • \n
  • Experience with computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn relevant applications.
  • \n
\n


Required Certifications & Licensure:
\n  

\n
    \n
  • Registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • \n
  • CT certification.
  • \n
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • \n
\n

  • A personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) is required for this assignment. Providers are encouraged to use an existing badge from a previous employer or assignment when available. If a new badge is issued, prior exposure history will not be reflected.
