Job Details

Requires utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.
Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment before patient studies.
Injects patients with radioactive material as per physician’s order following prescribed protocol.
Observes all department documentation policies including logs, manuals, charge documents, and equipment problem reporting.
Performs quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests following radiation safety guidelines (ALARA principle).
Maintains, develops, and retrieves patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses 1-day prior to use.
Receives radiopharmaceutical on day of delivery and verifies proper receipt and activity level prior to administration.
Performs CT procedures according to prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
Exercises appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient’s needs before, during, and after visits in Radiology department.

Job Requirements

Graduate of a JCERT approved School of Radiologic Technology.
Required: New York State License (L.R.T).
Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography and CT.
Required: BLS certification.
At least 1 year of CT experience.
