Registered Nurse – IMCU / Neuro–Med Surg (FLEX)
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a FLEX position supporting a high-acuity IMCU with a mixed neurology, medicine, and cardiology patient population.
Schedule:
FLEX schedule with 12-hour shifts
36 hours per week
Day/Night rotation
Every other weekend required
Every other holiday required
Required Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of IMCU experience
At least 2 years of recent Med-Surg and Telemetry experience
Experience with neuro care and myocardial infarction patients required
Trach care experience required
Ability to care for patients with complex medical needs
Proficient with automated medication dispensing systems
Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
Telemetry competency test required on Day 1
Preferred Experience:
Prior critical care experience
Unit Overview:
Mixed IMCU, Neurology, and Med-Surg patient population
High volume of neurology, medicine, and cardiology patients
Experience with chronic ventilators, tracheostomies, and high-acuity heart failure patients
27-bed unit
Average patient ratios:
IMCU: 1:3
Med-Surg: 1:4 to 1:5
