Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Phlebotomist to perform blood draws and diagnostic collections in Terre Haute, IN and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, a patient-centered approach, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy of diagnostic testing and maintaining a positive experience for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages.
- Properly label, handle, and store specimens to ensure sample integrity.
- Verify patient information and maintain accurate records in compliance with laboratory protocols.
- Adhere to safety and infection control standards, including proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
- Provide clear instructions to patients and ensure their comfort during the collection process.
- Assist with inventory management and maintenance of phlebotomy supplies.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure seamless workflow and timely processing of specimens.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
- Current Phlebotomy Certification (e.g., ASCP, NHA, or AMT) preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist in a clinical or laboratory setting preferred.
- Proficiency in venipuncture and specimen collection techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if travel to other sites is required).
- Flexibility to work [specify hours, e.g., day shifts, weekends, or as needed].
