About the Position
The Adjunct Professor - Fieldwork Supervisor at Pacific Oaks College mentors and supports student teachers and intern candidates during their fieldwork experiences. Serving as the primary liaison between the college and school site mentor teachers, the Fieldwork Supervisor plays a crucial role in bridging academic learning with practical application. This role focuses on guiding candidates through the practical aspects of teaching while fostering critical reflection on the principles that underpin effective educational practice.
Responsibilities
- Observe, evaluate, and provide feedback to teacher candidates during student teaching or intern placements (both in-person and virtual).
- Mentor and guide candidates, helping them reflect on their practice and identify areas for growth in instruction and classroom management.
- Collaborate with mentor teachers, Credential Analysts, faculty, and leadership to ensure comprehensive support for each candidate.
- Assist in resolving concerns or challenges involving student teachers, interns, principals, or mentor teachers.
- Participate in orientations, evaluations, and support processes, ensuring candidates are effectively onboarded and assessed.
- Complete and submit observation forms, evaluations, and required documentation accurately and on time.
- Attend required departmental training, meetings, events, and perform additional assigned duties to support program quality and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least three (3) years of full-time experience teaching students in a public-school setting is preferred.
- A current credential or equivalent experience in educator preparation.
Location
- Hybrid: This position is eligible for a combination of remote and onsite work, typically requiring in-person presence on designated days.
Anticipated Salary
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
