Director of Nursing DON

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the nursing department in a well-established 200-bed Skilled Nursing Facility. This role is ideal for a strong clinical leader who is passionate about quality care, staff development, and regulatory excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and oversee all nursing operations within the facility
• Develop, implement, and enforce nursing policies and procedures
• Recruit, train, mentor, and retain qualified nursing staff
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels and ongoing staff competency
• Monitor clinical outcomes, quality metrics, and compliance standards
• Ensure adherence to state, federal, and regulatory requirements
• Act as a liaison between residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
• Promote a culture of dignity, respect, accountability, and compassionate care

Qualifications:

• Active New York State RN License (required)
• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience in a long-term care setting
• At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory nursing role
• Strong clinical expertise and proven leadership ability
• Excellent communication, organizational, and team-building skills
