We are seeking an attentive and trustworthy Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our staff in providing excellent care to our clients. To succeed as a DSP you should be patient, empathetic, and have strong people skills. You should be observant and committed to making your client feel safe and comfortable. You should have excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for helping others.

About Austin's Place:
Austin's Place is a day program for young adults with intellectual disabilities. We also provide community participation supports. We offer a one to one staffing ratio. Whether they choose to stay on campus or choose to go out into the community our clients are able to work on communication, socialization, recreational, and pre-vocational goals every day. On our 22 acre campus we offer walking trails, a fully accessible therapeutic center, outdoor music garden, zip line and outdoor swimming pool. We also have a greenhouse, a garden and a picnic shelter. Inside we have two sensory rooms, an art room, and an extensive selection of books, games & puzzles. We also have 2 separate kitchens for those who like to do cooking activities. We have group activities that center around current events, music and animals. While out in the community they are able to visit the Pittsburgh Museums, Science Center, Zoo and Aviary. They may also choose to do some shopping, visit a library, have lunch at a local restaurant or just take a walk at one of the many local parks. Our programming incorporates the interests and strengths of our clients so that they are motivated to learn and progress with their individual goals.

Salary: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
