Asphalt Distributor Driver - Full-time

AMI Construction is seeking a positive and reliable Asphalt Distributor Operator to join our paving crews. This role requires a team player with a strong work ethic who will be responsible for operating the Distributor/Tack Truck across various job sites.

Job Responsibilities:

• Safely operate the Distributor/Tack Truck ahead of the paving operation to spray tack and prepare the road surface.
• Conduct regular maintenance, including cleaning and upkeep of the truck and attached materials, to ensure optimal performance.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, company procedures, DOT regulations, and safety rules.
• Complete pre- and post-trip Driver-Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).
• Assist paving crews when not operating the distributor, which may include operating other heavy machinery (e.g., Asphalt Paver, Roller, Skid Steer).
• Perform other CDL functions as needed, such as driving a dump truck.
• Complete other assigned duties.

Skills Needed:

• Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat or Tanker endorsements is mandatory.
• A minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience is required.
• Prior experience driving a Tack Truck is strongly preferred.
• Must be trustworthy and maintain confidentiality.
• Must be willing to work weekends as needed.

Required qualifications:

• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Construction license/certification: Class A Contractor License
• Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Review

Preferred qualifications:

• Drug screening
