DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will be responsible for various supervisory tasks, including preparing daily employee assignment sheets and guiding staff in their tasks. You will update work and vacation schedules for cooks and food service workers and provide ongoing on-the-job training by observing and demonstrating proper techniques. Your duties will include supervising and inspecting the delivery, storage, and distribution of food items. In terms of food production and distribution, you will plan and oversee the preparation, cooking, and delivery of meals for regular, texture-modified, and therapeutic diets. You will monitor pre-preparation areas where items are processed, assembled, and transported per the menu or special orders. Additionally, you will supervise the receiving room where meat, poultry, fish, and dairy items are processed and transported. Other responsibilities include managing tray assembly and food portioning, overseeing ware washing, and ensuring the cleanliness of food production and serving equipment, as well as work areas. You will also handle record-keeping and maintain safety standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work a rotating schedule with every third weekend off.
- Overtime: As needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of paid experience in food production and/or service and successful completion of a Certified Dietary Manager course; or
- Two years as a Food Service Worker (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) and/or production experience, and an Associate degree with major course work in food production and food service; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which consists of experience in an institutional setting preparing specialized therapeutic diets, or course work in food production, food service or a related field.
