Principal Network Engineer – Cloud Engineering

Location: Frisco, TX (Onsite)

Position Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $150,000 – $180,000

Overview

Our Engineering team provides the backbone infrastructure that powers all technical operations—ensuring systems are reliable, scalable, secure, performant, and cost-effective. As a Principal Network Engineer on the Cloud Engineering team, you will design, implement, and maintain next-generation networking solutions across multiple data centers and public cloud environments, while guiding a team through complex deployments and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, onboard, and manage data centers and ISPs

• Design, configure, and monitor enterprise and cloud networking environments

• Evaluate, qualify, and manage networking hardware and capacity planning

• Lead installation, configuration, patching, and updates of all network systems

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, and centralized secrets storage for consistent, automated provisioning

• Deploy and manage observability and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) for proactive performance monitoring

• Optimize resource allocation and performance across hybrid environments

• Strong background in virtualization (e.g., VMware, KVM) with a focus on network performance

• Hands-on with container platforms (Kubernetes, ECS, Docker, Helm)

• Proficient in configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet) and IaC tools (Terraform, OpenTofu, Pulumi)

• Experienced with monitoring and alerting platforms (CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic, Site24x7, Dynatrace)

• Familiar with version control (Git, GitHub, Sourcehut) and CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Argo)

• Comfortable working within modern ticketing systems (Jira, Shortcut, Azure DevOps)
