Position: Medicaid Unskilled Home Care Biller
Hours: Monday through Thursday 8AM - 5PM, Fridays 8 AM - Noon or 5 PM (explained during interview).

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Medicaid Unskilled Home Care Biller to manage billing for Iowa Medicaid home care services. This role is responsible for accurate claim submission, compliance with Iowa Medicaid Enterprise (IME) requirements, and timely resolution of denials. Experience with HCBS waiver programs and EVV is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
- Prepare, submit, and track Medicaid claims for Iowa unskilled home care services
- Bill services under Iowa Medicaid HCBS waiver programs (e.g., Elderly, Ill & Disabled, Health & Disability, Brain Injury)
- Verify Medicaid eligibility, prior authorizations, service units, and limits
- Review and reconcile caregiver timesheets and EVV data for accuracy and compliance
- Ensure billed services align with approved care plans and authorizations
- Manage authorizations and update PMS
- Research, correct, and resubmit denied or rejected claims
- Submit claim corrections and appeals within IME and MCO deadlines
- Communicate with Iowa Medicaid Enterprise (IME) and Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (Wellpoint, Molina, Iowa Total Care, etc.)
- Maintain accurate billing documentation for audits and compliance reviews
- Assist with IME audits, recoupments, and payer requests
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred)
- 1–3 years of Medicaid billing experience, preferably in home care or HCBS
- Working knowledge of Iowa Medicaid billing rules
- Experience with EVV systems and Medicaid billing portals
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with billing software and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience billing Iowa Medicaid HCBS services
- Familiarity with IME policies, waiver billing, and unit-based services
- Experience with Medicaid Managed Care billing and appeals
- Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare compliance requirements
