Damage Prevention Inspector Asheville - Full-time

What You Will Do

The Damage Prevention Inspector (DPI) are multi-skilled employees who perform highly technical work within a geographical area. We are seeking customer-oriented and motivated individuals who thrive under little supervision in an outside environment.

What You Will Earn (Rate of Pay)

Starting Pay is $20.00 per hour and UP based on experience

Main Duties

• Travel to pre-determined work sites to follow up on operator and crew excavation safety practices and code compliance.
• Educate work crews on local law.
• Establish positive and forward-thinking interactions between utility, public, and private contractors.
• Complete field reports detailing conversations, noncompliance activity, and determined resolutions to minimize utility damage risks.
• Utilize the platform to enhance overall 811 public awareness.

Work Requirements

1. � Valid, Driver�s License.
2. � Pass a 7-year background check and Drug Test.
3. � Must be proficient in using technology.
4. � Must adhere to safety requirements.
5. � Must have customer service experience
6. � Must be able to work outdoors in various weather.

Additional Skills to be Successful in this Role:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Fundamental understanding of underground utility systems
• Strong organizational and efficient work planning skills
• Underground utility experience to include utility locating

Work Status & Shift:

Full Time, Monday-Friday, 1st Shift Hours

Physical Requirements

Bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking several miles per day; carry up to 20 lbs of equipment; be able to effectively communicate with customers in a courteous manner displaying excellent customer service and perform other duties as assigned; Observes and follows all company/client procedures; Possess excellent customer service/communication skills; Be available for overtime; Be comfortable using computers/technology.
