Position Overview:
As a Warehouse Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse. You will be responsible for upholding safety standards, operating forklifts, coordinating daily activities, fostering a positive work environment, and facilitating effective communication. Your leadership will be essential in guiding the warehouse team, maintaining compliance with regulations, and providing support in the absence of the supervisor.
Job Description:
- Adhere to company safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Safely operate a sit-down propane forklift to move materials, products, and equipment throughout the warehouse or production area.
- Loads/Unloads materials from dock trailers, in a safe manner
- Transport materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks as needed.
- Attend to truck drivers as needed when they check in and out, confirming booking information, and providing loading and unloading instructions.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by providing leadership and direction to the warehouse team, communicating effectively in both English and Spanish and serving as the point of contact for staff to address any issues or emergencies that arise.
- Coordinate daily activities to ensure smooth workflow, meet operational targets, assign tasks to warehouse personnel, and guide them as needed.
- Supply workers with necessary materials and ensure correct materials are present.
- Training of existing staff and new employees.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in the manager's absence.
- Send daily reports, including inventory, yard list, runs list, etc., when the supervisor is out of the office.
- Utilize Excel Worksheets and Outlook to generate and distribute reports efficiently.
- Facilitate smooth communication and operations during the supervisor's absence.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years or older to apply
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) in written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills is required.
- Dependable and Reliable
- Excellent attendance and flexibility to work weekends and overtime, as required
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with production employees, management, and other departments throughout the company, and sometimes outside vendors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse software.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Warehouse setting with exposure to outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, and cold/hot temperatures.
- Exposed to normal work hazards, including a variety of physical conditions, moving vehicles, and machines.
- Fast Paced manufacturing environment with some allergen products.
