CNC Machinist

Millennium Power Services is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CNC and Manual Machinist to join our team in Westfield, MA. As a Machinist, you will play a key role in our production process, utilizing your expertise to fabricate precision parts using both manual and CNC machining techniques. Responsibilities:

• Setting Up and Operating Machines: Set up and operate both manual and CNC machines, including manual lathes, milling machines, PROTO TRAK Lathes, Milling Machines (PROTO TRAK), and Bridgeport.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
• Tool Selection and Maintenance: Select the right cutting tools, fixtures, and materials. Monitor machine performance, make necessary adjustments, and perform routine maintenance.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with stringent quality standards and specified tolerances.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with team members, engineers, and supervisors to discuss project requirements and machining processes.
• Safety and Maintenance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and perform routine machine maintenance.
• Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime.
• Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of production activities, materials used, time spent on each job, and any issues encountered.

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of experience strongly preferred.
• Proven experience as a Machinist with a strong understanding of both manual and CNC machining processes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Skilled in setting up and operating both manual and CNC machining equipment.
• Mastercam programming experience with Proto Trak control preferred.
• Experience with Haas & Doosan multi-axis machines preferred.
• Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and dial bores.
• Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and machining accessories.
• Strong math skills, including geometry.
• Knowledge of various metal properties and machinability.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical education or certification is a plus.

Position Details:

• Regular hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
• Overtime and weekend hours available and required as needed.
• Opportunity for travel to serve customers onsite.
