Experienced Handyperson for Luxury Residential Building - Full-time

Job Overview

A NYC-based luxury real estate company has an opening for an experienced Handyperson within its Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island City luxury rental building portfolio.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Repairs of all HVAC, boiler, heating, refrigeration, water, and energy systems.
• Repairs plumbing such as sinks, bathtubs, and toilets.
• Repairs on registers and radiators.
• Maintaining and/or replacing door hardware, compactor, and trash chutes.
• Maintenance painting in equipment rooms and other building facilities.
• Assist in the replacement of filters in the HVAC equipment.
• Perform electrical work.
• Perform carpentry work.
• General cleaning in mechanical spaces and perimeter induction units.
• Inspection of fire safety systems.
• Maintenance and repair of sanitary sewer systems, sump pumps, including basins, water closets, urinals, and piping.
• Maintenance and repair of all kitchen equipment, excluding tenant-owned equipment.
• Being available 24/7 when the Building Manager is not available.

Qualifications

• At least 2-4 years of experience as a handyperson in a residential building.
• Possess any permits or licenses required by law or code (e.g., refrigeration license, etc.).
• Experience in the operation, maintenance, and basic repair of electrical systems, HVAC, boilers, heaters, pumps, refrigerant systems, compressors, gas lines, and water systems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with tenants, clients, and vendors

Compensation

Compensation starts at $32.6010/hour. All positions are temporary with the opportunity to become permanent. Permanent positions include a full benefits package.
