Draftsman / Engineer - Full-time

A draftsman/engineer is a highly detailed person who is diligent in their approach.  They are able to read and understand architectural plans, specs, and details.  They are design-conscious and innovative.  They are quick learners and have the confidence to elaborate on details to fit project and company goals.  They have substantial fabrication and installation experience to allow them to use their experience to refine details and methods. 

Expectations|

• To craft submittal and construction drawings derived from architectural plans.
• To engineer cabinets and custom components accurately.
• Able to elaborate on custom details / non-standard items
• Create an accurate illustration for shop employees at different levels to understand
• Fill in any voids left from architectural drawings
• Draw to our methods and standards while maintaining the design intent
• Alert any discrepancies to the PM team.
• Perform all material take-offs and pass down complete material summaries
• Design/aesthetics / specifications first, constructability second, installation ease third
• Understand materials, their abilities, best uses and cost
• Present cost savings (material / Labor) at the drawing process
• Note all extended lead times on shop drawings
• Work with purchasing on material availability
• Field measure any space you need to see first
• Understand building access
• Attended any necessary drawing/design reviews
• Follow up with shop foreman regularly to review engineering/process issues
• Through an understanding of cabinet-specific software.
