About the Department
The Federal Work-Study program provides students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in a professional setting through employment on campus that supports their career their degree program. Offering students who are eligible the opportunity to build their resume while they are working towards achieving their degrees. Federal Work-Study employees will provide administrative and office-support to various departments at the various campus locations.
Student will work 20-40 hours per week.

Major Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:
- Helps plan, schedules, and implements activities for individual and/or group activities based on the department's needs.
- Coordinates and participates in planned activities designed to promote social interaction and intellectual stimulation.
- Clerical duties such as answering phones, writing memos, running errands, word documents, Xeroxing, facing, etc.
- Assist with creation of flyers, special events notice and help publicize events
- Other task as assigned by department
Learning Outcomes:
- Student will develop critical Customer Service skills, and office based skills.
- Student will learn time management, professionalism, and cooperative teamwork.
- Employees will gain insight working for an office type environment, and students will gain the proper experience working and will develop the knowledge and terminology to successfully transition into the Work Force.
Qualifications:
- Must have an unmet Financial need as determine by their Cost of Attendance
- Must be enrolled in at 6 credit hours (Fall 2019)
- Must have a completed FAFSA on file and qualify for Title IV funding such as Pell Grant
- Must be in Good Standing with Financial Aid
- Must be a New Mexico Resident
- If not enrolled in Fall 2019, must have 19/20 FAFSA completed and registered for Spring 2020
