POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary objective of the Business Developer is to develop NEW business for the company. The Business Developer must be familiar with all aspects of commercial landscape maintenance to include sales, production, customer service, estimating, etc. The Business Developer is the contact for initial interaction with the clients and keeps them informed as to all aspects of the maintenance proposal process. The Business Developer makes the initial contact with the client, prepares and presents the proposal documents, completes the sale, interfaces with Stay Greens production and accounting personnel, and interfaces with subcontractors and vendors as required throughout the first three months of the maintenance contract. The Business Developer will be responsible for their success within their specific territory determined in partnership with the EVP of Business Development and Operations.

The responsibilities for this role are grouped into four key categories, which the Branch Manager is evaluated on in the Performance Review program: Communication, Job/Technical Knowledge, Quality/Value of Work, and Engagement. The details below outline actions that contribute to success in one or more of these areas.
- Responsible for an annual book of business revenue determined by the EVP of Business Development to support the achievement of company goals.
- Actively attends client meetings (homeowners associations, board of directors’ meetings, etc.)
- Actively engages in professional association meetings such as Building Owners and Managers Associations, etc.
- Ensure that pricing is competitive and accurate, ensuring the best possible options for the client and the company.
- Prepares and reviews all bids in partnership with EVP of Operations, Operations and Finance.
- Develops, prepares and presents all proposals/documents to the client, representing the Stay Green Brand in the most professional manner.
- Interfaces directly with clients to ensure that all the clients’ concerns and expectations are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
- Partners with the local Account Manager for the first 3 months of the contract to ensure the highest level of execution and client satisfaction.
- Utilize Aspire to ensure trackability, accuracy, data input, professionalism and accountability.
- Reports promptly any suspected or potential violations of laws, regulations, procedures, policies, and practices, and cooperates in investigations.
- Excellent attendance record and follows sick and rain day procedures.
- Wear appropriate uniform and PPEs for job functions and ensure personal hygiene and other work areas in good order, including the company vehicle.
- Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with clients and internal teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS
- High school diploma required
- Bachelor or Associate degree in Business Management, Horticulture or related field a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience.
- Valid CA driver’s license
- Must be eligible for liability coverage by Stay Greens Insurance carrier.
- Proven ability to sell commercial maintenance contracts upwards of $1M annually.
- Contract review and understanding experience.
- Ability to read, write and converse conversationally in both English and Spanish is preferred.
- Ability to speak professionally, present, and provide written documentation to clients, team members, boards and vendors.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Open, create, receive and respond to emails utilizing Outlook.
- Proficient Microsoft Word to create, edit and complete documents and memos.
- Proficient Excel, SharePoint and Power Point to create, edit and complete projects and tasks as needed.
- Proficient use of Aspire, CRM, Proposify and other industry related software.
- Comfortable with apps, laptop, desktop, cell phone, software programs, with training as needed.
