Description:

Operate heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steers, excavators, forklifts, bulldozers, and haul trucks in an industrial mill environment.
Transport and handle slag, scrap metal, raw materials, and by-products in and around the mill.
Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety issues.
Safely load, unload, and transport materials to designated areas as directed by supervisors.
Monitor equipment operation and troubleshoot issues to avoid downtime or unsafe conditions.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including routine cleanup and material handling.
Follow all company and site-specific safety policies, procedures, and practices.
Assist with general labor tasks and maintenance activities as needed.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate job tasks and priorities.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
Exposure to dust, heat, cold, noise, and moving equipment in a mill or industrial plant environment.

Requirements:

Strong knowledge of safe equipment operation and job site safety standards.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in extreme weather conditions.
Familiarity with the functions and routine maintenance of various types of heavy equipment.
Team player with a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety and productivity.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, or holidays as required.
Valid driver’s license required; CDL a plus.
