Wieland is hiring a Electrical Maintenance Technician. The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive electrical and maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goal and objectives. Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams. Inspect electrical components including transformers and circuit breakers. Use testing devices to identify and report electrical problems. This role is located in Shelbyville, KY and will be fully on-site.
Schedule: Rotating 12-hour Shifts
- Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM
- Night Shift: 6:30 PM - 6:00 AM
Pay Schedule: Weekly
Electrical Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Perform minor electrical building repairs as necessary
Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of facility machinery - Troubleshoot production equipment controlled by PLC controllers, using the troubleshooting tools supplied by a PLC software, preferably Siemens S7 or TIA.
- Troubleshoot VSD, preferably Siemens VFD's.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments as needed
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components
- Demonstrate teamwork and high-level communication skills
- Other duties as assigned
Electrical Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience; strong electrical, and electrical controls knowledge. Good hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial knowledge.
- 5 years experience in industrial electrical field
- PLC and VFD experience. Siemens preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform electrical tests, read results and diagnose and repair electrical problems.
- Required to supply initial tools and toolbox for basic troubleshooting and repairs. Company will replace damaged tools as requested.
- Proficiency in using multimeters and other measuring equipment to diagnose electrical problems in industrial equipment.
- Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and small hand tools.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook
- Ability to work under pressure
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”), and the ability to access and handle ITAR “Technical Data” as defined by 22 CFR § 120.33 is an essential function.
