July 20 – July 24, 2026; 8 hours per day (Auxiliary)

Job Summary: ‘Iolani Summer Programs continue the tradition of leadership and academic excellence in offering students from ‘Iolani, the local community and abroad, an opportunity to enrich their knowledge and curiosity through engaging curriculum and interactive learning environments on the ‘Iolani School campus. The ‘Iolani Summer Programs includes a variety of daily enrichment courses in the arts, athletics, STEM, and academics. Summer classes offer students an opportunity to develop their knowledge and curiosity through experiential learning.
The ‘Iolani Summer Teacher’s Aide Program supports lead instructors in creating a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment in a dynamic summer school setting. This role assists with daily activities, materials preparation, and provides active student supervision and support during recess, lunch and Autoline. ‘Iolani Summer Programs seeks Teacher’s Aide candidates who model and reinforce positive behavior expectations, are flexible, reliable, proactive, and eager to represent and contribute to a welcoming ‘Iolani summer experience.
Essential Responsibilities:
Support program safety protocols at all times and demonstrate situational awareness.
Actively participate in fostering an environment in which students feel safe to learn and discover the world in which they live and learn about themselves.
Demonstrate respect, professionalism, flexibility, resourcefulness, and confidentiality.
Communicate effectively and appropriately with supervisors, peers, faculty, students, and parents.
Work collaboratively with teachers and staff; willingness and ability to improve based on feedback from supervisors.
Proactive sensibility and willingness to seek support when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Skilled in active student supervision and accountability.
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
Commit to the full Summer Program schedule, including training and all shifts; arrive prepared and consistently follow program expectations and schedules.Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and flexibility.
Proficient in Google applications as well as a willingness and ability to learn new applications.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to see and hear within normal parameters with or without correction.
Full leg and arm mobility (walking, standing).
Full range of head and neck movement.
Unrestricted ability to bend knees, raise arms above the head, and to move hands, fingers, and wrist.
Ability to lift, carry, and/or move up to 20 pounds without difficulty.
Ability to sit for extended periods; and ability to stand and/or walk for sustained periods of time during scheduled shifts.
Due to work in close proximity to children, candidates age 18 and older must pass fingerprinting and background clearance checks. TB clearance required.
