Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Human Factors Engineer intern is to support Engineering and Design on Masimo’s medical device portfolio through formative research activities. This position can expect to use a range of research methods to support the development of medical devices at different stages of completion. The individual in this role will collaborate in a cross-functional environment with team members from Industrial Design, UI/UX Design, Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, as well as Mechanical and Software Engineering to develop medical devices that are safe, easy, and enjoyable to use.

- Human Factors Engineer
Major Responsibilities:
- Support in creating, running, and analyzing research activities
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and engineers to understand the goal of a product
- Provide actional feedback and results
- Work with Human Factors team and other stakeholders to plan next steps
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively interface within a cross-functional team environment.
- Proficiency utilizing the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Education:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Human Factors, Psychology, or other relevant degree or certificate in Usability/User Experience Research.
- Must be a current university student to qualify as an intern. Alum candidates and students graduating May/June 2026 are not eligible for intern opportunities.
Location:
- This position will be on-site in Irvine, CA.
Compensation:
The anticipated hourly range for this position is $22/hr - $25/hr
