Shift: 1st Shift
Hours: 6:00am – 2:30pm (Monday - Friday)
Department: Supply Room
Summary
Receives, stores, and issues equipment, material, supplies, or tools, and compiles inventory records in supply room.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for inspecting incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices.
Compiles reports on use of machine repair parts, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, and quantity and cost of parts.
Distributes supplies and tools among production workers, keeping records of material issued.
Determines methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space.
Moves or transports material or supplies to other departments.
Maintains and reviews inventory and other stock records for machine parts, print labels, and supplies. Performs random cycle counts of inventory on hand.
Maintains machine cards for each machine with parts used, cost, and assigned technician.
Responsible for monthly and yearly inspections of all fire extinguishers.
Responsible for the preparation and disposal of waste and hazardous material.
Directly leads one employee in the Supply Room. Carries out lead responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training.
Language, Mathematical, Reasoning Ability, and Computer Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to managers and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software, Microsoft Word Processing software, Microsoft Access Database software, and AS/400 programs.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
This job requires up to 25% local travel and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
