Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for a night shift travel contract in Urbana, IL, requiring Epic EMR experience and an active IL RN license.

  • Inpatient Oncology unit setting within a hospital environment
  • \n
  • Oncology patient population including those receiving chemotherapy, biotherapy, and outpatient cancer treatments
  • \n
  • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week), 12-hour shifts
  • \n
  • No on-call requirements
  • \n
  • 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
  • \n
  • May float to like units
  • \n
  • Epic EMR used; experience required
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active IL RN license in good standing required; temporary license accepted
  • \n
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
  • \n
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
  • \n
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • \n
  • ASN required; BSN preferred
  • \n
  • Proficiency in skills including chemotherapy/biotherapy administration, Mediport access and maintenance, Foley catheter insertion, dressing changes, medication administration, and IV starts
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy to oncology patients across the unit and throughout the hospital as needed
  • \n
  • Administer outpatient treatments to oncology patients when the Outpatient Cancer Center is closed
  • \n
  • Assist with bedside bone marrow aspirations and provide emotional support to patients and families
  • \n
  • Maintain documentation standards as evidenced by quarterly chart audits
  • \n
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • \n
  • RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract
  • \n
  • Travelers who have been on continuous assignment at this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the health system
