As a Senior Job Captain, you’ll take ownership of coordinating and delivering permit-ready construction documents for multi-site commercial and retail projects. You’ll serve as the primary liaison with jurisdictions and sub-consultants, ensure code compliance (egress, accessibility, life safety), and uphold QA/QC standards. This role is ideal for detail-driven professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy mentoring teams to deliver high-quality, buildable drawings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and coordinate complete Construction Documents and permitting packages.
  • Conduct site visits for as-builts, accessibility checks, and construction administration.
  • Mentor CAD staff on architectural details, drafting efficiencies, and quality control.
  • Review plans for compliance with client objectives and building codes.
  • Coordinate with consultants, manage project schedules, and track budgets.
  • Serve as the primary contact for jurisdictions and process plan check comments.
  • Support construction administration activities (RFIs, submittals, punch lists).

Qualifications

  • Degree in Architecture or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in architectural design/documentation for commercial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, including accessibility standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
