Job Summary:We are seeking a part-time Medical Courier to become a valuable member of our team based in Baton Rouge, LA. The medical courier will work with the operations team to pick up client samples in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner. Routine daily tasks include supply deliveries, sample pick-ups, maintaining specimen integrity, logging of samples and communication of delays. Couriers will be provided courier cars and gas by Orion Laboratories and additional supplies needed to complete deliveries.
Pay and Benefits:- $15.75 per hour
- Perform routine specimen pick-up and delivery to laboratory according to established standards, procedures, and guidelines.
- Supply deliveries to designated locations.
- Maintain company standards of customer service, timeliness, and attention to detail.
- Abide by all traffic ordinances, appropriate rates of speed, and defensive driving tactics.
- Follow CAP, CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in the respective policies.
- Ensure proper operation of the company vehicle, including routine inspections to verify there is no damage to the vehicle body or tires; promptly report any issues to the Operations Manager.
- Report performance, compliance, or staffing-related concerns to supervisors in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Strong interpersonal skills that foster a positive work environment.
- Ability to diffuse tense situations and apply good judgment.
- Comfortable working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable transportation and a clean driving record, if applicable.
