Position Summary:
We are seeking a nurturing, energetic, and experienced Lead Toddler Teacher to join our childcare team. The Lead Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a warm, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 1-2. This role requires strong communication, classroom management, and curriculum implementation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a daily curriculum that supports the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development of toddlers
Create a structured yet flexible classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence
Foster strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and team members
Monitor children's progress and maintain accurate developmental records and assessments
Ensure the classroom meets or exceeds licensing standards for safety, cleanliness, and organization
Maintain consistent communication with families, providing regular updates and support
Mentor and guide assistant teachers or floaters in the classroom
Collaborate with the center leadership and participate in training, staff meetings, and school events
Promote positive discipline strategies and model appropriate behaviors
Follow all center policies and state licensing regulations
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; Associates or Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a toddler classroom setting
State-required certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, Child Abuse Clearance, Background Check)
Strong knowledge of toddler development and age-appropriate practices
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Passion for early childhood education and a genuine love of working with young children
Work Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday
(Some flexibility required for staff meetings or special events)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift to 40 lbs., sit on the floor, bend, stoop, and actively engage with children at their level.
