Shift: 2nd shift

Job Summary:

This position exists to operate various automated machinery for Bal Seal Engineering manufacturing clients. Please note this is a second shift position. Bal Seal offers a dollar uplift shift differential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
  • Uses computer-controlled, and/or manually-controlled equipment to select, position, and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines
  • Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion
  • Works under the close direction of tenured personnel in the functional area
  • Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job
  • Observes while the machine is being repaired by a Technician
  • Observes and follows all safety protocols
  • Learns the use of precision measuring tools
  • Perform daily housekeeping operations in the work area to maintain a safe workplace
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

Experience:

  • 1 year of automation operation experience preferred, not required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to promote and work in a highly collaborative environment
  • Ability to perform in a medium to fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally required to bend, stoop and squat
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds
  • Required to reach with hands and arms to handle documents and products
  • Must be able to enter data into a computer by use of a keyboard and mouse and be able to sit for long periods at his/her desk
  • Occasionally visit employees throughout the building to gather data and clarify information

Work Environment:

The work environment conditions are typical of a manufacturing environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the basic functions. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to moderate, however, hearing protection may be required if employee enters high noise areas as a part of their normal job duties.
