Redfern Advanced Technical Assistant provides technical support for Redfern Arts Center events, including Rental Clients, the Music Department, and the Theatre and Dance Department. The technicians need to be very independent, and task orientated. They will be given tasks to perform and need to self-manage their time, they also need to adapt to the changing needs of the events. Must be able to make decisions about the space, the equipment needed and if it is safe and feasible to perform a requested action They will be working directly with KSC Students both as supplemental instruction and as a supervisor. This position reports to the Redfern Program Manager/Artistic Director
Duties/Responsibilities
Complete needed technical setups of the performing spaces per events specifications.
Set up of supplemental spaces as needed (i.e. extra dressing rooms, storage spaces for equipment, etc.).
Supervise student crew including training on theatre equipment and its operation.
Run the technical side of events in the Redfern Arts Center.
Help Maintain the Redfern theatrical equipment.
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
2 years of experience in technical theatre or related field.
