About The Opportunity
The Machine Assistant is responsible for supporting machine operations across multiple machine centers which may include folder gluers, poly joiners, die cutters (rotary and flatbed), and digital presses. Key responsibilities may include assisting with machine setup, preparing materials, feeding sheets, stacking finished products per customer specifications, inspecting quality, and performing minor repairs/adjustments. Machine Assistants work closely with operators and team members to maintain efficiency, quality, and safety standards while actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives.Essential Functions:
Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform all duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of assigned equipment
Review and understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special instructions, and customer requirements
Stack off finished bundles and feed sheets into the machine
Rotate positions every few hours as needed
Prepare paperwork and bottom slip sheets for each other
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Repair or assist maintenance in the repair of machines as necessary
Fill in for machine operators during their absence
Check finished products for quality per customer specifications
Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Safety-sensitive position: ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed based on business needs
Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed
Ability to effectively work in teams
Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
Ability to read a tape measure/ruler
Ability to perform computer functions as they pertain to the job
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent desired, not required
Pay Rate:
Training: $25.90-$30.09
Qualified: $27.86-$32.36

3-2-2-3 Schedule
You will work a straight shift of 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM OR 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
