As a Fleet Dispatcher, you’ll play a critical frontline role in coordinating every aspect of our daily operations to ensure seamless, on‑time deliveryfor our customers.

In this role, you’ll schedule drivers, vehicles, and routes with precision—balancing efficiency, cost, and customer priorities in real time. You’ll monitor driver performance, track the progress of pickups and deliveries, and quickly respond to changing conditions such as traffic, weather, or last‑minute customer requests. Serving as the central communication hub, you’ll support drivers on the road, keep internal teams informed, and maintain strong service levels through proactive issue resolution and sharp operational awareness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:

Onsite Dispatch & Driver Support:

  • Must be onsite during scheduled shifts to support operations and real-time decision making.
  • Assign, schedule, and manage commercial drivers and delivery orders based on route efficiency, delivery windows, driver availability, and Hours-of-Service (HOS) regulations.
  • Plan, optimize, and adjust routes and load assignments to maximize efficiency and meet customer expectations.
  • Monitor deliveries in real time using dispatch software and ELD/GPS systems to track order progress, driver location, and delivery status.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers throughout the day, providing direction, updates, and operational support.
  • Proactively manage fleet availability to maintain high on-time delivery and completion accuracy.
  • Respond quickly to operational challenges such as weather delays, traffic conditions, breakdowns, or last-minute schedule changes, implementing effective solutions to minimize service disruptions.
  • Communicate professionally and timely with customers and internal teams regarding delivery status, delays, or scheduling changes.
  • Provide customer service support as needed, including responding to customer phone calls and emails related to deliveries.
  • Ensure all dispatch activities comply with DOT/FMCSA regulations, company safety policies, and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of driver hours, routes, load status, incidents, and delivery completion in dispatch and transportation systems.
  • Collaborate with operations, customer service, and management to improve dispatch efficiency, service quality, and on-time performance.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no employee supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty according to the requirements of NOW Courier. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; and two years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience working in the logistics or trucking industry is desired.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in dispatching (trucking or logistics preferred).
  • Proficiency with dispatch/tracking software and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure, deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Resourceful and creative.
  • Analytical skills and problem-solving ability.

This job operates primarily in a professional office environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. However, job duties may require one to operate in a warehouse environment with moderate safety/health hazard potential. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. This role is required to be on-site.

While the offices of company are open from 8AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday, this job will require work beyond these hours which may include weekends and holidays.
