Position Overview

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Aspasia Coffee and Bake Shop, including both Front-of-House (FOH) and Back-of-House (BOH) teams. The GM ensures operational excellence, financial performance, team development, and the delivery of an outstanding guest experience.


Key Responsibilities

Operations & Management

  • Oversee daily caf operations, ensuring smooth workflow between FOH and BOH.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and supply costs to control expenses.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Ensure caf is clean, safe, and fully operational at all times.

Financial Management

  • Monitor and achieve revenue, labor, and cost targets.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales, expenses, and labor.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, train, and supervise FOH and BOH staff.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to enhance team performance.
  • Schedule staff efficiently to meet operational needs and maintain labor budgets.

Guest Experience

  • Maintain exceptional guest service standards.
  • Address customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure team consistently delivers a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Marketing & Community Engagement

  • Support local marketing initiatives and promotional events.
  • Build strong community relationships to increase brand awareness and loyalty.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 35 years of restaurant management experience in breakfast/lunch cafs, casual dining, or fast-casual concepts.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Passion for food, coffee, and creating memorable guest experiences.

Preferred

  • ServSafe Manager certification.
