General Manager

Description:

The General Manager for Lakeland, Florida facility is responsible for this brand new 376,000 square foot facility that is slated to open during the first quarter of 2025. This facility is state of the art with two deep racking, automation and a 4-day power back up! The General Manager will have the unique opportunity to build their talent at this facility from the beginning with the leadership team to the hourly workforce.

• Oversee the daily operations of running a start-up facility to ensure on time deliveries to customers without going over budget while maintaining a safe environment for all team members.
• Prepare the annual budget, to include total headcount, facility targets and process improvement initiatives.
• Assign facility goals and initiatives and cascade goals to all levels with the facility.
• Provide direction to team in the following areas:
• Hiring & training of team members based on the total headcount budgeted in their areas of responsibility.
• Manage the organizational processes to ensure continuous improvements in quality, production, customer service, and efficiency. Troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Provide constant feedback and communication to the team around opportunities or concerns.
• Administer discipline to team members fairly and ensures adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Partner with Human Resources in the areas of performance management, succession planning, increases, progressive discipline and on all terminations.
• Communicate all operational changes to the building and ensure all levels of the building receive the same level of communication.
• Direct the facility team in all safety practices and partnering with safety to ensure that the facility is following all OSHA guidelines.

Requirements:

• Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of professional experience in a leadership role as an operations manager or general manager role with a cold storage facility.
• Ability to communicate across multiple levels in the organization and within the facility.
• Strong knowledge of e commerce, warehouse automation, cold-storage, and transportation
• Warehouse automation and 3PL experience in a fast-paced startup operation
• Ability to lead people and build cross functional teams.
• Ability to meet competing demands, problem solve and create a project plan to meet the needs of a fast-growing warehouse.
