Role Description
Head of Executive Communications
Location: Flexible / U.S.-based, preference to Atlanta-based
Reports to: Kevin Boucher
Dotted line: John Hope Bryant
We are seeking a seasoned, senior communications leader to serve as Head of Executive Communications for the founder, chairman and CEO of Operation HOPE, a nationally recognized voice on inclusive capitalism, financial literacy, and economic mobility.
This role is responsible for shaping, protecting, and scaling CEOs public narrative across global, national, and local platforms—spanning business media, mainstream and lifestyle publications, culturally specific outlets, and local media in “HOPE Cities” across the country.
This is not a press coordinator role. It is a strategic leadership position for a seasoned communications executive with strong judgment, editorial instincts, and the ability to operate at both national and grassroots levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead narrative and messaging strategy for the CEO’s external engagements on behalf of Operation HOPE.
- Secure and manage media placements across:
- Business and financial media (e.g., CNBC, Bloomberg, WSJ)
- Mainstream and lifestyle outlets (e.g., Esquire, GQ, major podcasts)
- Minority-facing and community media
- Local and regional media tied to HOPE City travel and programming
- Proactively activate local media (TV, radio, business journals) in advance of city visits
- Oversee first-person content platforms including podcasts, editorial, and digital storytelling
- Ensure message discipline, brand alignment, and reputational risk management
Ideal Candidate:
- 12–20+ years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, or high-level PR
- Experience supporting a high-profile CEO, founder, or public figure
- Strong relationships across business, mainstream, and culturally specific media
- Exceptional writing and editorial judgment
- Comfortable advising senior leadership in fast-moving, high-visibility environments
This role offers a rare opportunity to help shape a national economic narrative with real cultural, civic, and market impact.
