Accounting Manager

We are partnering with a high-growth, venture-backed company that is building and selling a real, tangible product supported by a proprietary technology platform. The business operates at significant scale and complexity, and this Accounting Manager represents the first dedicated Accounting/Finance hire. This is a rare opportunity to fully own accounting from the ground up while gaining exposure to FP&A as the company scales!

Reporting to and work directly with the CFO, this role will be responsible for running the full accounting function end-to-end, establishing core processes, and creating the financial foundation for a rapidly growing, multi-state operation. You will work closely with leadership, operate with a high degree of autonomy, and help bring structure and clarity to a complex financial environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Own the full accounting lifecycle: close, reporting, reconciliations, and financial accuracy
• Build accounting processes, controls, and documentation from scratch
• Manage high transaction volumes across multiple revenue streams and cost centers
• Account for inventory, manufacturing costs, contractors/subcontractors, and multi-state operations
• Partner cross-functionally to understand how the business operates and how money flows
• Begin to support and learn FP&A activities such as budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as the function matures

Requirements and Ideal Experiences

• Progressive accounting experience in complex, high-growth environments
• Background in public accounting is a plus, but candidates must have public and/or private corporate accounting experience
• CPA license or CPA In Progress is highly desirable
• Experience within VC- or PE-backed portfolio companies is strongly preferred, but not required
• Must have worked in a business with real operational complexity, such as: Manufacturing and inventory, Multiple revenue models and cost structures, Multi-state operations, Technology platform supporting the business
• Highly proactive, comfortable with ambiguity, and energized by building from the ground up
• Ability and desire to own accounting holistically while expanding into finance over time
