Job Description – Server (Front of House)

China Star Buffet Restaurant is hiring Servers to join our front-of-house team. This position is ideal for individuals who are friendly, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist guests in a courteous and professional manner
• Serve food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages when applicable
• Clear tables, reset dining areas, and maintain cleanliness of front-of-house areas
• Assist guests with questions, refills, and special requests
• Work closely with kitchen and management to ensure smooth service
• Follow all food safety, alcohol service, and company policies

Compensation & Tips (Texas Law)

This is a tipped position under Texas and federal law.

The base hourly wage for tipped employees may be as low as $2.13 per hour, provided that base wage plus tips equals or exceeds the applicable minimum wage.

If total earnings (hourly wage + tips) do not meet minimum wage during any pay period, the employer will make up the difference, as required by law.

Tips are earned directly from guests and may vary by shift, volume, and performance.

Most servers earn above minimum wage through tips during regular shifts.

Schedule

• Full-time and Part-time positions available
• Flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Minimum age: 18
• Reliable transportation preferred
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
• Prior restaurant or customer service experience is a plus, but not required
