About this job
This position will ensure dishes are sanitized and cleaned properly while using proper techniques/sanitation standards. This position will operate dish machine following proper safety procedures and ensure that machine is running properly. If the machine malfunctions, this position will properly turn off and report the issue to the Manager or Director of Nutrition Services immediately. This position will ensure that fresh, clean sanitation water and cleaner buckets are at every station for the duration of the shift and that the sanitation buckets are changed every 2 hours. This position will ensure that clean side towels are in sanitation buckets only. This position will ensure that no knives are placed into sanitation buckets nor are knives allowed in the dish room area- knives are washed and cleaned by the cooks. An average day and duties includes but is not limited to (times and duties may vary):
APTITUDES: Ability to complete routine tasks without reminder. Ability to maintain excellent communication with Chef, Manager and Director to be certain duties are carried out effectively.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Thorough understanding of HACCP processes required; Understanding of FIFO (First In, First Out) practice required. Must be able to read and write to interpret instructions. Assembly work and/or food service work experience is preferred. The knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety can be acquired with at least 3 months of on the job training.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma, GED or HiSET equivalent preferred. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Able to follow instructions.
