Carpet Cushion Dock Loader - Full-time

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Carpet Cushion Loader on 1st shift at our Lakeland, FL manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for operating equipment used to load finished products into trailers for delivery, while meeting production and quality standards for the department. 

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate both verbally and in writing with the department and supervisor. This position will require the safe operation of a forklift along with computer use. 

Responsibilities of this position will include:

• Lift and maneuver Carpet Cushion Rolls and packages of foam weighing up to 80 pounds.
• Plan work flow with lead person or supervisor to ensure all required trailers are loaded
• Product labeling and quality inspections.
• Work in trucks/trailers in hot and cold conditions.
• Load product into trailers using a squeeze forklift, ensuring proper loading sequence is followed, per order specifications.
• Must be able to check multiple trailers at the same time
• Scan(with a hand scanner) products to load into the computer shipping system
• Print labels, run manifest and bills of lading from computer
• Work Safely in a fast-paced environment
• Read and understand Carpenter Co Truck Sheets

Skills/ Requirements

• Basic Computer experience required and SAP preferred.
• Forklift Loading/Unloading Experience required
• Will be required to stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, stoop and reach.

Education

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree Preferred. 

The starting pay rate for this position is $17.90 per hour.
