Job Description
CTL Engineering is hiring Interns in our Construction Management/Construction Administration department for Summer 2026!
Majors: Civil Engineering or Construction Management
Projects types: roadway and bridge (ODOT) construction projects
Territory/region – central Ohio region (Columbus area).
- Given the nature of the role, Interns need to reside in the Columbus, OH region during the Internship.
- Housing and/or housing stipends will not be provided.
Targeting 35-40 hours/week for the Summer 2026 Internship.

Responsibilities and things you’ll get real-world exposure to:
- Learn about and perform a variety of tasks such as research, testing, problem solution, construction management/administration of transportation projects.
- Participate in field visits and inspections as required in the central Ohio region.
- Learn about and conduct/document field observations for construction activities performed by the contractor(s) for roadway and bridge construction projects.
- Learn how to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and related codes and standards.
- See, and be involved in, the process of ensuring construction work conforms to design documents, approved submittals, regional standards, local codes and best construction practices while adhering to schedule/timeline and budget aspects.
- Learn how to identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.
- Communicate deficiencies to management/proper personnel.
- Monitor the progress of construction activities and provide guidance to contractors to ensure adherence to project timelines.
- Discuss plans, specifications and work schedules with Project Manager and Engineers, contractors, utility companies and other governmental agencies, etc.
- Perform project administration duties such as preparing monthly pay applications and change orders for presentation to the client.
- Assist other project management staff with identifying problems and developing viable solutions for consideration.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist in reviewing contractor submittals for compliance with project specifications.
- Assist in the resolution of construction-related disputes or claims.
