Groundskeeping & Maintenance Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY:
The groundskeeping and maintenance assistant supports the daily upkeep, safety, and appearance of the camp property. This role is hands-on, ideal for those who enjoy completing physical outdoor tasks and contributing to a safe and welcoming environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Follow all camp procedures as outlined in the Camp Staff Handbook
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of camp property including janitorial tasks like restroom cleanliness, garbage, and removal of other debris
- Mow, trim trees, and assist with general landscaping as needed
- Pick up equipment, activities, and maintain equipment cleanliness and operation
- Keep supplies always stocked and at the ready
- Communicate needed supplies to designated parties in a timely fashion
- Cut, stack, and transport firewood following safety guidelines, prepare campfires and extinguish thoroughly
- Assist with other seasonal projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education or Experience:
- High School diploma required, experience in a similar position is highly desirable
- Other qualifications or skills:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work independently or as a team
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
- Ability to accept supervision and guidance
- Familiarity with hand tools, outdoor equipment, or general interest in learning these tasks
- Completion of any required training
- Good integrity, character, attitude and adaptability
- CPR/First Aid Certification (provided if not already complete)
- Must be able to work the entire summer and disclose during the interview process if a vacation has been planned, or expected scheduling needs
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This job is outdoor oriented, with no indoor facilities on site.
- Frequently required to talk, hear or see, walk or run, or stand for long periods of time
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more, bend, twist, and climb
- Required to work outside in a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to heat, wind, and rain
PAY SCHEDULE/INFORMATION:
This position is paid in stipend amounts equaling $580.00 per week. Paid on a Bi-Weekly Schedule.
