A growing company looking for a Press Brake Setup/Operator to join a growing team. In this position, you’ll set up, operate, and maintain press brake machines used to bend and form metal sheets to exact specifications. In this role, you’ll be essential to manufacturing high-quality metal components to meet specific customer needs.
Job Description:
As a Press Brake Operator, you will apply your expertise in mechanics, shop mathematics, and metal properties to operate and maintain press brake machinery. Key tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints, performing setups, inspecting parts, configuring bend allowances, and programming complex press brake operations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press brake machinery according to part drawings and bend simulations.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring and gauging tools.
- Calculate and configure bend allowances for various metals, such as stainless steel, aluminum, and regular steel.
- Maintain machine calibration, cleanliness, and perform general maintenance as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints and layouts accurately.
- Operate with standard and custom punches to meet customer tolerances.
- Conduct spot inspections to ensure all parts meet specifications.
- Program complex operations on the press brake utilizing all available machine features.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in press brake setup and operation, preferably within an architectural metals fabrication setting.
- Strong programming skills specific to press brake machinery.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, with experience laying out parts independently.
- High energy, dependability, and a strong work ethic with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Steel-toe boots required; pre-employment drug screening mandatory.
