Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our team. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, highly organized, and excited about solving complex engineering challenges in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role will be involved in the design, development, and improvement of mechanical systems and components used in e-beams with opportunities to contribute across product development and production support.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
· Design, develop, and validate mechanical components and assemblies for e-beam systems.
· Support new product development from concept through manufacturing release.
· Perform CAD modeling, drafting, and documentation of mechanical designs.
· Conduct tolerance analysis and structural evaluations.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, manufacturing, and operations) to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
· Provide hands-on support for prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and production ramp-up.
· Recommend design improvements to enhance manufacturability, performance, and cost efficiency.
· Work with suppliers to evaluate components and materials and resolve technical issues.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.
Requirements:· Proficiency in Autodesk CAD software, Autodesk Inventor is preferred.
· Strong knowledge of GD&T, materials, thermal management, and mechanical systems.
· Experience with high-voltage systems.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.
· Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a positive, proactive attitude.
Education/Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
· 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within manufacturing or high-tech industries.
· Advanced skills in CAD tools, Autodesk Inventor experience is a plus!
· Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
