Position Overview
The Restaurant Manager / Kitchen Manager is responsible for coordinating front-of-house and back-of-house operations, managing staff, enforcing food safety standards, and ensuring an outstanding guest experience. This role requires a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leads by example.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
- Oversee daily FOH and BOH operations to ensure smooth service.
- Train, mentor, schedule, and supervise staff.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work culture.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with all health/safety regulations.
Kitchen & Food Quality
- Monitor food prep, cooking, portioning, and presentation for consistency.
- Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, and waste reduction.
- Ensure adherence to recipes, food safety protocols, and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with ownership/chef on menu updates and specials.
Customer Experience
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly.
- Maintain high hospitality standards across the team.
- Support a welcoming environment that encourages repeat business.
Financial & Administrative
- Assist with budgeting, cost control, and labor management.
- Track key performance metrics and implement improvements.
- Approve schedules, monitor payroll, and support hiring processes.
- Enforce company policies and standards.
Qualifications
- 2–4+ years of restaurant management or kitchen leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of food safety (ServeSafe certification a plus).
- Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
