Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position in Goldsboro, NC, requiring at least 1 year of nursing experience and an active NC or compact RN license for a night shift role on a 40-bed ortho, general surgery, and urology floor.

• 40-bed adult unit specializing in orthopedics, general surgery, and urology
\n
• Patient ratios of 1:4–5 on days and 1:5–6 on nights
\n
• High-volume unit with approximately 5–10 admissions per day
\n
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
\n
• 4 days per week, 48 hours per week
\n
• On-call: 1 standby shift per 2-week period
\n
• Weekend requirement: up to 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
\n
• Holiday coverage required based on staffing needs
\n
• 13-week contract
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state license valid for NC
\n
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
\n
• Current NIHSS certification
\n
• CPI-A certification required
\n
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required; 2+ years of Med/Surg experience highly preferred
\n
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
\n
• Two professional references required for consideration
\n

• Experienced nurses complete a 3–5 week orientation; new RNs participate in a 12–13 week Vizient onboarding program
\n
• Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, patient and family education, and discharge planning
\n
• Opportunities for professional growth including charge nurse, preceptor, and clinical ladder advancement
\n
• Drug screen must be completed within 24 hours of commitment; allow at least 2 weeks for background check and drug screen results
