American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week day shift travel contract requiring telemetry skills, Epic experience, and an active SC or Compact RN license.

- Medical-Surgical unit in a hospital setting with 34 staffed beds \n
- Day shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM \n
- Standard patient ratio of 1:6, with potential flex to 1:7 during unplanned staffing shortages \n
- Every other weekend required \n
- On-call required on a PRN low-census basis \n
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including to like units or sister facilities \n
- Charting in Epic EMR \n
- Free parking available \n

- Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have an active license prior to start \n
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience preferred \n
- Required certifications (AHA only): BLS \n
- Preferred certifications (AHA only): ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) \n
- Epic EMR experience required \n
- Skills required: Med/Surg, MS/Tele, telemetry monitoring, insulin management, and rapid response \n
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration \n
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration \n

- First-time travelers are accepted for this position \n
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler \n
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate; non-local candidates are prioritized \n
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs \n
- Orientation modules are completed pre-start \n
- Royal blue scrubs required \n
- Staff may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November), with peak activity in August and September \n
- Candidates should be aware of and comfortable with hurricane season responsibilities before confirming this assignment \n
