We are seeking an experienced Epic Resolute Hospital Billing Reimbursement Contracts Analyst to support a large-scale Epic implementation at a ~$1B pediatric health system transitioning from MEDITECH and eClinicalWorks to Epic.
This consultant will play a critical, hands-on role in the design, build, and validation of payer reimbursement contracts within the Epic Resolute Hospital Billing (HB) environment. The role requires deep technical expertise in Epic HB reimbursement configuration, strong analytical skills, and the ability to read, interpret, and operationalize payer contracts accurately within Epic.
This engagement is primarily remote, with periodic onsite travel to Tennessee for key milestones such as integrated testing, go-live preparation, and post-live stabilization.
Epic Resolute HB – Reimbursement Contracts Build
Perform hands-on configuration of payer reimbursement contracts in Epic Resolute Hospital Billing.
Build and maintain:
Reimbursement contract records
Payment methodologies (e.g., DRG, per diem, percent of charge, case rate, stop-loss, carve-outs)
Contract components, terms, and conditions
Configure contract logic to accurately reflect payer-specific reimbursement rules, escalators, thresholds, and exclusions.
Review and interpret payer contracts and amendments, translating contractual language into Epic HB configuration.
Partner with revenue cycle and managed care stakeholders to validate contract assumptions and interpretation.
Identify ambiguities or gaps in contract language and raise risks or clarification needs proactively.
Support unit testing, integrated testing, and UAT focused on reimbursement accuracy.
Validate expected vs. actual reimbursement outcomes using Epic tools and test scenarios.
Assist with remediation of contract build issues identified during testing cycles.
Support reimbursement strategy transition from MEDITECH and eClinicalWorks to Epic.
Assist with comparison and reconciliation of legacy reimbursement outcomes vs. Epic results.
Identify and resolve discrepancies related to payer contract configuration.
Support go-live readiness activities, including final contract validation and sign-off.
Provide hands-on support during go-live and post-live stabilization, addressing reimbursement-related issues.
Assist with optimization and refinement of contract build as real-world claims are adjudicated.
Work closely with:
Revenue Cycle and Managed Care teams
Revenue Integrity and Hospital Billing teams
Epic HB application team
IT and testing teams
Clearly communicate build decisions, assumptions, and impacts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Directly influence reimbursement accuracy for a major pediatric health system during a high-impact Epic implementation
Serve as a key hands-on contributor to a net new Epic HB environment
Work alongside experienced revenue cycle and managed care leaders
Enjoy a primarily remote engagement with targeted onsite collaboration at critical project milestones
RequirementsRequired Qualifications
Epic Resolute Hospital Billing Reimbursement Contracts Certification (Required)
Demonstrated experience performing hands-on reimbursement contract build in Epic HB
Prior experience supporting at least one net new Epic implementation
Proven ability to read, interpret, and translate payer contracts into Epic configuration
Strong understanding of hospital billing reimbursement methodologies
Experience working in large health system environments (preferably pediatric or academic medical centers)
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Ability to work independently in a remote consulting role while coordinating with cross-functional teams
Willingness to travel onsite to Tennessee for key project milestones
Experience supporting Epic implementations involving MEDITECH and/or eClinicalWorks conversions
Prior go-live and post-go-live stabilization experience in Resolute HB
Familiarity with pediatric reimbursement considerations
Experience supporting enterprise-scale Epic implementations ($500M+ health systems)
